HARTMANN Site Herbrechtingen Achieves EcoVadis Gold Rating
Sustainability is becoming increasingly important across supply chains. As a global company, HARTMANN works with a large number of suppliers and business partners. To further strengthen the consideration of sustainability aspects in procurement decisions, the Procurement team has established important foundations.
At the heart of these efforts is the systematic integration of sustainability requirements into key procurement and supplier management processes. Sustainability criteria are being gradually incorporated into supplier qualification, new supplier onboarding, sourcing processes, and collaboration with existing business partners. The goal is to consider environmental and compliance-related aspects at an early stage of the decision-making process.
A key milestone was the enhancement of our digital procurement landscape, enabling the collection and management of supplier sustainability information in a more structured and transparent way.
In addition, Procurement works closely with Sustainability, Compliance, and other functions to further develop processes, improve data quality, and strengthen engagement with suppliers. At the same time, HARTMANN is creating important prerequisites for meeting future regulatory requirements, for example in the areas of sustainability reporting and supply chain transparency.
Creating more sustainable supply chains is a long-term journey. However, the measures implemented so far provide an important foundation: they enable sustainability considerations to be systematically integrated into procurement decisions and create the basis for driving targeted improvements together with suppliers in the future.
In this way, Procurement is increasingly becoming an important lever for HARTMANN’s sustainability transformation, helping to lay the groundwork for a more sustainable and transparent supply chain.
