From 1 May to 31 August 2024, more than 80 employees joined a biking-to-work initiative. Over a total of 883 days, they clocked an impressive 11,263 kilometers, preventing a total of 2,217 kg CO₂ of automotive emissions. Their actions protect the environment and support the shift towards cleaner mobility.
The nationwide biking-to-work initiative, created by AOK1, took place for the 20th time. Every kilometer helped during the month of May as 370,000 Germans biked to their workplaces. They covered approximately 42.22 million kilometers and prevented 8,300 tons of CO₂ emissions.
Our employees at HARTMANN are already looking forward to participating in May 2025, when they’ll saddle up again and bike to work in the name of climate protection.
In related news, HARTMANN has introduced a popular bike leasing service for employees in Heidenheim/Herbrechtingen and other locations, as well as for Kneipp employees in Ochsenfurt. Participating employees can lease a company bike, which they can also use in their free time. The Company provides this non-cash benefit to support sustainable mobility and to incentivize employees to engage in sport on a daily basis. It’s an ideal addition to the Company’s diverse employee health measures. Approximately 300 bikes are already in use thanks to the program.
