Triple confirmation: Kneipp once again awarded EcoVadis platinum
The award-winning pad is made entirely from cotton fibers and a fully biodegradable exfoliating material that is sourced from over 50 percent renewable, plant-based raw materials. It is securely bonded to the pad surface through a proprietary process. In contrast, conventional pads typically combine 85 percent cotton and 15 percent polyester fibers and contain fine microplastic particles that may be released during use. This eco-friendly alternative effectively eliminates that issue.
The jury highlighted the pad’s biodegradability and avoidance of microplastics as significant environmental benefits. They also noted that its compatibility with existing products will facilitate quick market entry. While praising its performance, the jury expressed the hope that future versions will use entirely renewable raw materials.
For CMC and the HARTMANN GROUP, the award affirms their ongoing commitment to developing sustainable alternative materials. The biodegradable exfoliating pad demonstrates how innovation and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.
Congratulations to CMC and all the other winners of the Biopolymer Innovation Award 2025!
