A commitment to the principles of the Global Compact
The UNGC is a global initiative of the United Nations that encourages companies to adhere to ten universal principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption. With its commitment, HARTMANN undertakes to integrate these principles in all its business fields. Compliance with ethical and legal principles of conduct make up an essential part of HARTMANN’s corporate culture. With its Sustainability Strategy adopted in 2023, the company has set itself concrete goals for a commitment to sustainability and established effective control mechanisms.
A focus on human rights and labor standards
The protection of human rights and the promotion of fair labor standards are central aspects of the UNGC. HARTMANN is dedicated to ensuring that all business activities comply with the highest ethical standards. This includes protecting the rights of employees, suppliers and partners in all business fields in which the company operates.
Environmental protection as a corporate responsibility
At a time when environmental crises, especially climate change, pose an increasing threat to humanity, joining the UNGC emphasizes HARTMANN’s pledge to take environmentally conscious action. The company will continuously work to minimize its environmental footprint and develop innovative solutions to help tackle global environmental challenges. The company has set itself the goal of reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 CO2 emissions by at least 50% by 2030 compared to 2021 and is aiming for complete climate neutrality throughout the value chain by 2050. In addition, HARTMANN has carried out Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) in recent years, the results of which help to optimize products in line with sustainability goals. The analyses to date identify raw material consumption as a key driver of environmental impact. HARTMANN is pursuing further significant improvements in the sustainability of its products through intelligent product design. In Incontinence Management, for example, the company is optimizing its products to reduce packaging volumes, storage space requirements and road transport.
Combating corruption as the basis for trustworthy business practices
The UNGC attaches great importance to the fight against corruption. HARTMANN reaffirms its zero-tolerance stance on corruption and is committed to transparent and ethical business practices. This not only strengthens the trust of stakeholders, but also promotes an ethical corporate culture.
A contribution to achieving global climate protection goals
The UNGC is closely linked to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By implementing the principles of the UNGC, HARTMANN is actively contributing to the realization of these global goals.
